Daemon
I saw the world explode, so frightening
As it burst into burning balls of fire.
With crashing thunder and blinding lightning
I watch my fleeting time expire.

Ever so recklessly I indulged.
We never think when we play.
Satan's intentions now divulged.
Because of my sin, the innocent must pay.

The world I once knew, is now in the past.
Gazing into the mirror, I try to make sense.
Life begins slowly, but ends so fast.
Can I return to innocence?

We are all just children struggling
In a world of pain and suffering.

Anger

The guilt never tires, hopeless though it seems.
But what of my own desires, my hopes, my dreams?
Duty so burdensome, how much can I bear,
Before I'm overcome by grief and despair?

I just can't take it any longer.
Within me burns a growing fire.
I try to hold back, but it only grows stronger.
My hopeless reach for something higher.

What can I do? When should I act,
And relinquish my own facade?
I realize the power my human hands lack.
The rest is in the hands of God.

Life I can neither save nor give.
As I have life, a full life I shall live!

Hunger

Hunger for power, hunger for love--
From lack of food my body is weak.
How could a loving God above,
Allow my life to become so bleak?

I want to eat, but I lack the will
Soon my body Hunger will ravage.
I could perish, or I could kill.
A timid creature becomes a savage.

There are others worse off than I, I know.
Such a luxury is food.
Every morsel I could forego
Could serve to feed the multitude.

A warring world, full of malice
Makes body and mind cold and callous.

Awakening

As Love and Hunger know no color
Nor does Death show prejudice.
As I look upon this I shudder
And search for a trace of justice.

Through pain and suffering my feet were shod.
By my faith I endured the rain.
There, I saw the face of God,
And my life will never be the same.

I saw a new green Earth take form,
And a tiny fertile seed was sown.
I saw the sun slowly rise in the morn,
A colorful flower had sprouted and grown.

I watched the hopeful flower blossom.
The sight was incredibly awesome.

Love

To hold hands with someone,
To look into the eye,
To dance and have fun,
To hold them close when they cry,

Love is such a petty and childish emotion.
It fills my mind more each passing night.
Must there be headache with devotion?
Why do I try so hard to make it right?

So rediculous, distracting, destructive,
It tears the heart and weakens the voice.
It would be wise, instead, to work and be productive.
There comes a time when one must make a choice.

This is the way life is I know.
But God I miss love so!

Hope

Along with Faith and Charity
Causing depression or lifting us far,
This ambiguous verity
Is all that remains in Pandora's jar.

Invisible like the moving wind
It still remains a powerful force,
Called upon when we have sinned,
To succor our feelings of worldly remorse.

I think of the man nailed to a cross,
His life has become an enternal flame.
His tragic death was in no way a loss.
I am so spoiled, I feel ashamed.

I wait for divine intervention
As I rely on human invention.

Blue sky
