Forgotten Soldier was a nice success for me with television and media coverage. I wanted to do a faster paced song and have fun with Day By Day and get back to my roots a little with the quicker paced fingerpicking accompanied by choked string bass lines.

After writing and playing many ballads and traditional country songs over the years, I thought it would be fun to loosen up and have some fun with a tune and get back to the sound I grew up with, which has turned out to be a frequented request. In the studio, the atmosphere was energetic and we just had a blast with "Day By Day". The chorus has a catchy hook that folks like to sing along with. As far as what is the song about...It's just about not getting too caught up with the things that really do not matter...slow down in life and enjoy the things around you...Take it easy, Relax, Take it Day By Day.
