Receptors returns with SLEEPER , his third album performed entirely on the Nintendo DS running the Korg DS-10 cartridge. Released on Handheld Heroes / ReceptorsMusic with artwork by Videogramo / Francoise Gamma.
RECEPTORS is electronic artist/producer/gearhead Jeremy Kolosine, born in east London, and currently living in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Jeremy aka Ksine, is founder of electro pioneers Futurisk, and chipmusic vanguards 8-Bit Operators, among other projects. Exemplifying a longtime experimental hardware electro ideal, Receptors stands equipped these days mostly with GameBoys (running mainly the LSDJ, Nanoloop, and Korg DS-10 cartridges) but also includes Sidstation, occasional CircuitBends, and vocoded 12-bit stylophonic walkstations. In recent years, Receptors has performed at NYCâs legendary Blip Fest, CMJ and Bent Festivals, showcased at Austin, Texasâ SXSW Festival and Icelandâs Airwaves Fest, and in 2007 Jeremy Kolosine performed the first ever circuit-bent performance (Leopold Mozartâs âToy Symphonyâ) with a full symphony orchestra (The Roanoke Symphony). The debut 7â EP was released in 2005 and Receptorsâ full length CD âLOâ is planned for 2008. Also OUT NOW is the critically acclaimed ReceptorsMusic production â8-Bit Operators - an 8-bit Tribute to Kraftwerkâ released internationally on Kraftwerkâs US home label Astralwerks/EMI. In 2009, Jeremy completed construction on â21st Century Retro-Futuristsâ an audio/video installation for The Taubman Museum, and joined the Blip Fest Europe/8bitpeoples tour of Denmark and Poland (Era New Horizon Film Festival.) On 09/09/09, the Kolosine-curated 8-Bit Operatorsâ âWANNA HLD YR HANDHELDâ Beatles Tribute was released online to much positive attention and is available on iTunes and at 8bitops.com. Receptors closed out 2009 with the release of the âUSER Deluxe EPâ on the world-renowned 8bitpeoples chip-music label. In 2010, Receptors released the SLEEPER CD / DL on the Handheld Heroes chipmusic label in conjunction with ReceptorsMusic. It's his third album performed solely on the Nintendo DS / Korg DS-10.
