The Elephants are an energetic very talented foursome that is taking the New York Music scene by storm. On Guitar is the amazingly talented David Keesey (Stolen Brown Evergreen) who's wicked slide guitar on 'I fell in Love with a Stranger' is a must hear and infectious riffs and solos beyond compare. On Bass is Roey Haviv ("Roey Haviv Bassist" - on facebook) To hear him play on 'Alien Way' is sublime and he shows on every track the way a Bassist can shine while supporting the song perfectly. On drums is the incomparable Elly Geldwerth (Glaser Drive, Stolen Brown Evergreen) Elly's energy, and raw power are what drives the band's debut album, and on tracks like 'Light Quest' it's hard not to marvel at the way he seamlessly mixes tiny explosions of genius with a perfect symmetry of energy and rhythm. On Piano and Vocals is the band lyricist Ephie Lowinger. After writing and singing on his latest solo album âIâve Learnedâ in 2008 (available on Itunes or cdbaby under "Ephie" or "Iâve learned"), Ephie joined the Elephants to win a bet he made with a friend that "Elephants can play the piano better than monkeys". Unfortunately for Ephie he made the bet with Michael Nesmith (Michael Nesmith played piano for 'The Monkees'...ha ha?) I can go on and on about The Elephants debut album and how it is a "must have" for true fans of rock and roll, but just listen, and you will know it yourself.
