The Gene Pond is a husband and wife song writing duo. Azorik will write an instrumental piece of music and then pass it on to his wife, who then writes the lyrics and melody lines around it then she adds some harmonies and/or sound effects. Azorik will then add any final touches, like a melt your face off lead guitar solo or additional instruments necessary to complete the sound. He then puts his fine tuned music teachers ear to work carefully mixing and mastering each song till it's just right.
Azorik is no stranger to the stage and can captivate any audience young or old instantly. They also love to make local appearances and perform live acoustic versions of their original songs.
The first concept album released in 2006 by Azorik Vovin was titled Lovestories. A short break from songwriting and they were back digging right in to what they love the most, writing music that evokes emotion. In early 2010 they released a second album under a new band name; The Gene Pond album titled Primordial Spawn and they are currently finishing up their third album titled My Epoch-oh-Lipstick release date coming soon!
