"Most people don't know that I was into music long before I started with acting," says Heyborne, who lives with his family in Los Angeles. "With music I can express my thoughts and feelings in a different way than as an actor. I love and embrace both forms of expression."
Kirby got interested in music when he was 15. He played in local bands like Shasta Daisy and Bentleigh, which had a good following in Utah and Idaho. With Bentleigh, Kirby opened for N'Sync at the Olympic Medals Plaza during the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic Winter Games.
Heyborne showed off his musical talent again in the mockumentary "Sons of Provo," in which he plays a member of a Mormon boy band. "It was a great experience for me, because I could be both, an actor and a musician, at the very same time," says Kirby. It was only a short stretch for him to finally come out with his first solo album.
When he ran into Christian Vuissa, the director of "Baptists at Our Barbecue", the two decided to collaborate together on an album. Vuissa believed right away in Kirby's musical talent. "Kirby is incredibly talented not just as an actor but also as a musician. His musical sensitivity is outstanding." In March 2005, Heyborne's debut album âInsideâ was released.
May 2, 2006 Heyborne's second solo album âBraver Daysâ is released with Nathan DeVore as producer. âKirby shows maturity in his songwriting and musicianship,â says Christian Vuissa, executive producer of âBraver Days. He has definitely grown in the past year.â
Heyborne continues his thriving acting career. He signed with a great agent and gets regularly invited to auditions for national TV shows and films. "He's very dedicated and always strives for excellence, definitely a good combination," says Vuissa, who considers working with Heyborne on a film project in the near future.
Talking about his new album âBraver Daysâ...âThis is a more intimate album than my first one,â says Heyborne. âThe songs are about taking chances and finding the courage to be better. After listening, you may feel motivated to forgive a brother, realize how great your family is, or take the leap of faith that you have been avoiding. Each song will say what it needs to say to each listener. Every detail in every song on this album has a purpose.â
âI think with each year that passes, we learn more about life and how we fit into it. This album is about knowing who I am and what is important to me. I am very proud of this album.â
