Drummer Eddie Forcier, vocalist Michael Martin, and bassist Jay Cousland have been writing and performing original hard rock and danceable rock cover's since the late eighties, through the rise and fall of three former bands (Lickity Split, 2x4 Bob, and Willow's Bones). Guitarist Jason Dempsey joined at the inception of the Blacky Sheridan project, in 2005. Their great local popularity has been undeniable; live shows are always packed with loyal fans who come to dance and party with the band. From Eddie's massive attack on the drum skins, to Jason's bluesy lead shredding, to Mike's moody, rockin' vocals and "back-beat" style of strumming, to Jay's aggressive "riding" bass style, Blacky Sheridan will please both the casual rock enthusiast all the way up to the discerning music critic. In addition, Mike's writing style reflects the hardness of his heavy metal favorites (Metallica and Sanctuary), the moodiness of his grunge era picks (Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins) as well as the heart of his classic rock favs (Led Zeppelin and David Gilmour). This is the first audio release for the Blacky boys and has been met with great praise and approval. Each year, the band dresses up like characters from Mad Max/The Road Warrior and rocks the Port Townsend, Washington Rhododendron Festival parade with an entourage of around fifty people. Their float looks like something straight out of the aforementioned movies and they play the self-composed Road Warriors theme song in rotation with Burning Skull (from the 'Gimme 5' EP) and/or a recognizable classic rock cover. The parade crowd always loves the annual return of the Road Warriors, which many claim is their favorite part of the event. Blacky does not play live frequently allowing the demand and desire to party with them grow to nearly a fever pitch. Their fans love the rare covers they play such as Cheech and Chong's 'Earache My Eye' or Brad's 'Sweet Al George', as well as their popular ones: Magic Carpet Ride, We're An American Band, Blitzkrieg Bop, and Plush. But most fans come to hear their nearly twenty original compositions which are interspersed throughout the sets, their biggest hit being 'Ride My Bike', written and performed in the early nineties under the band name Lickity Split. Their stage shows are often a big production such as their varied themes for the big Halloween ball and their New Year's Eve Party. Blacky Sheridan is also a favorite at the annual outdoor festival: Redneck Fest. Blacky Sheridan is usually billed as "Party Rock" and enjoys performing for private parties. According to fans, Blacky Sheridan has great chemistry and is a band they hate to miss.
