1970s Rock with a touch of Jazz. If you like disco, you won't like this.. Original songs with an original sound.

20 MP3 Songs
ROCK: 70's Rock, JAZZ: Smooth Jazz

Details:
From 1977 'til 1979, five guys from LaGrange Illinois got together to make smooth sounding rock music with a jazz flavor. They drew influences from the Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Mothers of Invention and the Beatles, to name a few. They patiently crafted and arranged their music and set down a series of well honed recordings, which are now available again after over 25 years in the vault.

Their performances in the Chicago area in the late 1970s are legendary. The recordings on this CD are a testiment to that sound. Listening to these songs today, they are as fresh as the day they were recorded.

Hardly Middle Class included Jay Anderson on Bass, Jim Coman on Lead Guitar, Pat Herlehy on Lead Guitar and Alto Sax, Mike O'Connor on Drums and John Robbins on Piano, Synthesizer and Rhythm Guitar, with all five providing vocals.
Smooth sound. Cool tunes.

If you like disco, you won't like these guys! It is not that kind of music. Good songs, good arrangements, nice sounds.

John Robbins and Jim Coman would go on to form the Robbins and Coman Band. Pat Herlehy is now a well established guitarist, saxophonist and horn arranger in New England. Listen to their sound from way back.
