Details:
The third musical project for Hardtack & Harmony includes a number of traditional foot stomping tunes that many will recognize.

Two of the songs are orignal written by Olvier Claffey one of which, "Taking The King's Shilling", recounts the unscrupulous methods of recruiting soldiers during the war of 1812.

The second, "Always Remember These Days", is dedicated to the memory of First Sergeant Patrick Moran, 10th Louisisana Infantry, Company 'C' of the Army of Northern Virginia. Irish born Patrick was 50 years old and married when he enlisted at Camp Moore, Louisiana on July 22, 1862. He was the oldest man in the Regiment to surrender at Appomattox Court House on April 9th, 1865.

This music is of an era when songs told stories and were part of an oral tradition of handing down historical events before the advent of recordings and radio. To that end, Hardtack & Hamrony are committed to keeping history alive through their music.
