Big Brooklyn Americana, like an indie version of the Band. Vivid lyrics combined with some amazing fiddle playing and the unmistakable chime of a 12-string Rickenbacker.
13 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Folk Rock, FOLK: Power-folk
Details:
We play Big Brooklyn Americana in the tradition of The Band, The Basement Tapes, The Byrds, Fairport Convention, and all the great old-time, early country, Appalachian, and folk-rock you've ever heard.
We're a five-piece band led by Jay Zasa, Rickenbacker 12-string and vocals, who also writes the songs. Great songwriting and vivid imagistic lyrics are the hub around which the band revolves.
The band also includes Mat Kane, violin, also of the Doc Marshalls and the Trophy Wives, Chaim Tolwin (who also plays in the Trophy Wives) on drums, Tony Soll on Bass (Tony toured with John Hammond Jr. back in the day among other accomplishments), and Andy Bienen, professor of screenwriting at Columbia, on piano.
