Details:
Uli Geissendoerfer, a native of beautiful Munich, Germany has been living in the US since 1987.

This all original CD (except #8) is Uli's homage to the great Latin pianists such as Chucho Valdes, Eliane Elias, Michel Camilo and Jorge Dalto.

A variety of styles and settings from solo to trio to quintet and nonet feature some of New York's finest Latin and Jazz musicians.

Uli has played with among others Gary Burton, Slide Hampton, Mike Manieri, Dave Samuels, Kenny Wheeler, Harvey Swartz, Nicki Mareiro and Tito Puente.
After studying with Chucho Valdés in Cuba in 1994, he joined the band of conga "wunderkind" Giovanni Hidalgo (CD's Timeshifter & Heineken Jazz '95).
He was nominated for a Latin Grammy with William Cepeda for their second release "Branching Out".

His musical background is very diverse from playing Broadway shows to Cirque du Soleil from playing with opera and ballet companies to a duo recital at Carnegie hall.

Growing up in Munich he played drums and later harmonica and piano in local Blues and Southern Rock bands. From '87 to '92 he studied Piano, Jazz and theory at the University of North Texas and lived from '93 to 95 in Connecticut. Since the summer of '95 he resides in New York.

Stay tuned for two more upcoming releases, one Trio, one Solo.
