9 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: Progressive Rock
Details:
Unreasonable Footprints released their first album Tracks One in 1999. Coming from England, it is easy to see where some of their influences come from: Genesis, Pink Floyd, Tears for Fears, Gary Numan - but the resulting tracks on the album contain so much originality that each track is a surprise from the frightening opener Killing Time, to the haunting Indians through to the down right loud Feel Good.
Vocalist Iain Morton describes the music as âmelodic rock but basically whatever the style of song that we write, if we think its good enough then we go with itâ. Guitarist Adrian Hall adds ââ¦ok, so a lot of prog rock can be self indulgent and dull but on the other hand why should a song have to fit into a three minute verse-chorus mould? If you have some interesting music that needs longer to work then do it!â
The second album Another Toe in the Water showed again that the band were full of new ideas with 13 tracks featuring. Whilst the overall feel of the album is a bit lighter than Tracks One, Chamelion demonstrated that the band had lost none of its edge. Many styles are in evidence with the bluesy Honest Woman contrasting with the ballads Corrupting Me and Feeling Tonight.
In 2006 Amazing Feat was released. âWe are really pleased with this oneâ, Iain said, âI think it has some of the strongest songs we have doneâ. Who is safe? and Endless Sin are both dark, sinister works whereas Absence contains some of the best uplifting instrumental sections the band has produced to date. âAfter writing together for many years, we feel now that the stuff we are creating is really us. Weâre already half way into the next album!â
