Celtic Folk and World Rock Music

Heather Alexander: lead vocal, fiddle, guitar, backup vocals
Andrew Hare: bass, backup vocals
Dan Ochipinti: drums, percussion, synth pads, backup vocals

Uffington Horse's debut album features a selection of their best mythic material. Enchantment runs the gamut from upbeat to melancholic, a journey for the listener from the realms of Faerie to the depths of Hell and back again. Through dangers unseen and hardships unnumbered on the back of a white chalk horse, to be delivered safe and sound to hearth and home again.

Heather Alexander, a fiery Celtic, redheaded multi-instrumentalist with a commanding stage presence and mesmerizing voice, formed the trio Uffington Horse with the amazing rhythms of Dan "DanO" Ochipinti and solid, melodic bass lines of Andrew Hare.

Uffington Horse has been performing since 1999 in the Northwest. Their mix of Heather's original songs and traditional tunes put to a rock and roll beat brings to mind British bands Fairport Convention or Steeleye Span, but with a modern style that is all their own. The fantastic and mythical aspects of their music combined with their boisterous renditions of traditional Irish and Scottish tunes inspire fans of all ages.

----

Heather Alexander is a Celtic singer-songwriter living near Portland, Oregon. Over the past 20 years, she has performed a broad spectrum of music, from country to Cajun. With her fiery fiddling and smoldering vocals, her music is rooted in the British Isles, but with a modern American flavor. With numerous albums to her credit, she has won audiences of all ages. In 1999, she formed Uffington Horse to perform her original music in the spirit of the great British Folk Rock bands, but with an up-to-date style. When she is not rocking the world with Uffington Horse, she can be found performing solo up and down the west coast.

Andrew Hare has played a variety of instruments during a musical career spanning over 35 years. Originally from Los Angeles, he has been a member of The Association, and has recorded with members of The Lovin' Spoonful and Spanky and Our Gang. Since moving to Seattle in 1981, he has been in demand as a studio and performing musician with various local rock, country and bluegrass bands and songwriters. He is also a successful painter showing with a major Seattle art gallery.

Dan Ochipinti has played drums and percussion for 25 years. He grew up in Sacramento, CA and moved to Seattle in 1985. DanO has been performing steadily in the NW music scene ever since. He has played many genres of original music including American rock, folk and jazz, African pop, Celtic folk and rock, Brazilian, Latin American, Eastern and Western European folk, and even Jewish Klezmer music.
