Details:
Finally, itâs here! âTimelessâ from Él the Self Image has seen itâs share of hard times (no pun intended), and has emerged as the great release of 2006. Él has put together an eclectic mix of club tracks, conscious music, and street tracks that both flex his lyrical ability and provide an uninterrupted glimpse into his world. Joined by members of his camp, Mansion of Mayhem, and Shottie Recendez of Deziak Klan, Él the Self Image delivers a death blow to Pop/Crap rappers everywhere.
Whatâs up with Él? Él the Self Image is dope! Fresh off the success of his contribution to the Ku Ku Mixtape, he again stimulates our ear drums with his new album âTimeless.â Some of you might remember his first release, âReflection of Selfâ which he plans to re-release in 2007. Some of you might have caught him on stage at The Roc in Costa Mesa, House of Blues in Anaheim, Queen Mary and Blue Café in Long Beach, Incahoots in Riverside, or even the Paladino in Tarzana. Some have even heard him spittinâ on albums from Lil-Ant of Sicc & Twisted Ganksta Records, and X-Streem of Mansion of Mayhem. 2006 has been a busy year for Él, who is currently working on X-Streemâs next album.
Él the Self Image, Born Thomas Itabiyi, has been rapping and producing since he was 16. Born in Houston, TX, raised in Anaheim, his views and opinions are mixed, yet practicle. From quiet and shy to loud and obnoxious, Él has made many transitions in his life that have put him in the position to be Orange Countyâs first Hip-Hop Heavyweight (no pun intended). Él pulls inspiration from everything around him, and uses it to paint a lyrical landscape. More so of a storyteller, than a metaphoric lyricist, Él the Self Imageâs music is along the lines of that heard from Dilated Peoples, Mos Def, Common, Jurassic 5, and sometimes, Ludacris! Witty and poignant lyrics that drive right at the heart of todayâs issues are what Él delivers best, But you'll have to listen for yourself....
