Bio of David ELI Grimes
12/3/06

Born David Eli Grimes in Brunswick, Georgia on August 19, 1952. Ever since I was just a wee kid, I would make up my own songs to sing. At the age of thirteen I wrote, âWhy Oh Whyâ. I thought the song was good enough to send to Elvis in hopes he might sing my song. That day never came, but I kept the words to the song all these years. The song is featured along with thirteen other songs on my new CD.

When I was around fifteen, I saw the movie, âYour Cheating Heartâ, which is the life story of Hank Williams, Sr. After watching the movie, I bothered my father night and day about buying me a guitar. He finally gave in and bought me a used guitar over the Trader Jack radio show in Brunswick, Georgia. I bought a Hank Williams songbook and it took me a whole week to learn the song, âI Saw the Lightâ. It was one of the hardest things I had ever undertaken on my own. When I finally learned that song I felt I had conquered the world. I have written songs or made up songs all my life. The CD that is for sale on CDBaby.com includes fourteen songs I have either written or co-written.

I have always wanted to do something in my life that would make a positive impact in this world. Therefore, I have written at least four songs, which I hope will impact the listener and inspire them to help make a difference. More than one person has given me feedback that my songs are surely written and sung from the heart. Thanks for visiting my site and I appreciate you buying one of my CDs.
