Call It Progress is a post-hardcore/punk rock band out of Brewster, New York. Shortly after Call It Progress formed in september of 2009, they set out on the journey to completing their debut EP titled "Spin." The band commenced the recording process over the winter of 2010 and worked tirelessly on it for many months until its release on May 28th, 2011.

The band name "Call It Progress" derives from a Thrice song titled "Circles," a song that spoke to them greatly. The song revolves around the theme of walking in circles throughout life not having any real purpose in life. It reveals how people are blinded by the materialistic world that has been created around us. The song also focuses on people not having a direction in life in hopes of helping people realize it. Lastly the song incorporates that element of the unknown where anything is possible and not limited to the circles that many people get trapped in in daily life.

"Spin" incorporates many themes of love, loss, confusion, along with inner and outer struggles that come one's way throughout daily life. The EP also deals with elements of memories, regrets and living with them, and the power of friendship. The name "Spin" was inspired by the chapter titled "Spin" in the novel The Things They Carried, due to outlooks on memory and life present in the chapter.
