In November of 2009, a tragic plane crash took the life of producer/musician, pilot and flight instructor, Daniel R. Wills. This CD is dedicated to his memory.

20 BY 24 is the fifth album release by Tom 24 (Thomas Ventiquattro II), and is his first solo production and performance work. In dealing with the loss of his good friend and producer Dan Wills, Tom 24 states that it was a struggle for him to record and produce this CD. "Dan Wills always made such an enormous contribution to all of our studio projects," admits Tom. Ventiquattro normally provided only vocals and guitars during recording sessions, while Wills added bass, drums, keyboards and his production skills to the tracks. Without Dan, Tom was faced with the task of doing it all himself. Tom says, "I learned a lot from watching and listening to Dan during the 12 years that we worked together. He was my professor...my mentor."

Tom's dedication to being a good "student" must have paid off, here. Listeners should agree that Tom 24 seems to have captured the same smooth and mellow acoustic sound that was characteristic of previous albums produced by Dan Wills.

Ventiquattro shares songwriting credits with his life-long friend and collaborator, Vincent J. Schneider, Jr. The pair put their heads together and penned all 20 tracks. "Vince is amazing," reports Tom. "Vinnie has a gift, a knack for choosing topics and lyric ideas that force me to compose "outside the box." Ventiquattro adds, "I tend to paint myself into corners with my writing. More than once, Vince has rescued me from those tight places."

These 20 tunes feature a sampling of various musical stylings, ranging from acoustic soft rock and easy-listening ballads, to folk-pop tinged with hints of country, blues and soul. NY Yankees fans will appreciate "THANK THE '61 YANKS" and "HOME OF THE BABE." "DOWN WASHINGTON STREET," "ALL-AMERICAN PROUD" and "TEARS OF A NATIONAL CRY" offer a celebration of American patriotism. Other song themes touch the emotions via tributes and nostalgic journeys into the past. Story lines focus upon optimism, happiness and hope. There is sure to be something here for everyone. Enjoy!
