The Escape Committee started in 1989 with four road weary musicians looking for a local scene in the North West of England.
Each brought a wealth of knowledge and experience and different styles to the melting pot of the northern pub scene.
Using the corridor of the M6 motorway the band stay fairly c;ose to home with a group of venues stretching frpm Preston to Stafford. Based in Warrington Cheshire, this popular band has been through some changes over the years but is still lead vocally by Pete "Sarge" Frampton.Long-standing founder member Steve Foster supports on bass and vocals while Phil Wright brings up the rear on drums. Tim Chu is the fourth regular member on guitar and vocals but due to other band commitments his slot is often filled by a roster of part-time "branch members".John Gibson often deps for Steve as he now fronts an Eagles tribute band.
The band have several other branchers in Stoke, Stoke , Stafford and Guernsey and this unique system ensures a fresh approach to the music which is essentially based on covers with an improvisational approach.
The band have recorded several albums in their 15 years together and this latest live outing "Four Upstanding" was recorded in 3 of their popular venues.
