People who are interested in Alice In Chains Nirvana The Presidents of the USA should consider this download.
Details:
Recorded in Seattle, the Federal Way based band spent 4 years together before recording and finishing this project. This is their first full length LP to date.
Cover art: Mt. Rainier; the central image for the album's theme.
*Special Note: As with most hard rock, the louder the album is played, the better it seems to sound.
The music is driven by the dueling guitars of Neil Wagner and Luke Kosbab, the band's principle composers and lyricists. The rhythm section is comprised of Ryan Wolfe's thundering drums and Jon Carlson's deep, distorted bass. Wolfe is also one of the band's lyricists and contributed the song "Butterflies" to the album. Vocalist Luke Kosbab details stories of social and personal problems throughout. All the band members make vocal cameos at different points in album. Jon Carlson gives a spoken word introduction at the beginning of "The Mountain" and a laugh during the experimental track "Dream Sequence". Ryan Wolfe sings the chorus of "Butterflies" as well as the rap movement of "Dream Sequence". Neil Wagner provides backup vocals on the emotionally charged "Heart of Stone". Topics range from dealing with social oppression, in such tracks as "Feed The Ego" "The Wolf With No Howl" and "Band Geek's Anthem", to the environmental anthem "Panda Land", to the inner workings of the human psychosis in the songs "Dream Sequence" and the thrash metal styled "Iron Lightning" which details brontophobia. Overall, the album is very assertive and dramatic, and produces a fine tuned sound for an independently produced band.
Instrumentation:
Luke Kosbab: Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard.
Neil Wagner: Lead Guitar, Acoustic Guitar.
Ryan Wolfe: Drums, Percussion.
Jon Carlson: Bass.
