Songwriter and musician Pete MacDonald is a native of Antigonish, N.S., and has performed throughout Canada and the US sharing stages with artists such as The Beach Boys, The Trews, Honeymoon Suite, Garrett Mason, Mike Trask, Stone Mary, Wheeler, Bruce Guthro and Matt Minglewood.

MacDonald helped found the Beatles tribute band, Abbey Road, managing the group and performing as lead vocalist/bass player since its inception in 2004. The band has performed at the Maritime Beatle Event in Halifax, the Savoy Theatre, Glace Bay, Confederation Centre, Charlottetown, and at Natal Day Celebrations and the 2005 CFL Tailgate Party in Halifax. Great demand in the corporate convention market has taken Abbey Road everywhere from exclusive private resorts such as Fox Harbâr in Wallace, Nova Scotia, to national conventions in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

MacDonald is also a member of the Maritime act, Merimac, which plays regularly in the Halifax scene and occasionally in Toronto and the United States.

Phatâs Barber Shop â a collection of ten original tunes -- is MacDonaldâs debut album, and has received radio play locally on stations such as CBC Radio One, Q104 and 101.5 The Hawk, and nationally on CBC Radio One. He has performed in the Halifax area on several occasions with great response at venues such as The Seahorse and Your Father's Mustache. Backed by St.F.X. Alumni Theo MacIntosh (bass), Mike Carroll (drums) and Matt Gray ( rhythm guitar), both the CD and the live act promise to leave you wanting more.
