Details:
Early in may 1999 two young gentlemen from the Haarlem music scene (hip hop DJ Elected -Relax & Specially blended- and producer Zystem) joined together to create breakbeat and drum & bass based remixes of their favorite hip hop tracks. After some tests on dance audiences it was decided to form a duo around an electronic sound system consisting of synths, drummachines, turntables and FX equipment, which could be used both live and in a studio configuration.
With monotonous drum & bass as a base sound a first demo ("Live") was recorded and the first live performance at the LVC in Leiden was a fact. After appearing on (and creating two jingles for) 3FM National Radio the decision was made to experiment with different styles and a second demo ("Gathered") was created. Apart from some hardcore tracks a couple of friendly tracks were included amongst which the surprising remix of Manu Chao's "Bongo Bong" and Mad Cobra's "Sexy Body Girl".
After that more live appearances followed on various stages and festivals including The ioFestival (Delft), Hoogspanning (Haarlem) and Mysteryland (Bussloo). Each time proving that a wide range of dance audiences go wild at the two guys' enthusiasm and ripping blitzcore beats, in which rap, ragga- and step influences appear.
The latest release "Insert Credit" offers a variety of styles and guest vocalists and is a good example of the new sound of Jagga Bite sound system, with a feel for the dancefloor as well as the living room.
