Born in Denver, Colorado, James grew up playing his nickel-plated Conn Alto Saxophone at North High School and church. He later attended Colorado State University and Anderson University, where he majored in music performance. After a stint with Kent Schneider at Purdue University, He earned a Masters of Art at Azusa University. James happlily married his favorite piano player (they are still making music together after 30+ years) and together settled down in Hamilton, Ohio to raise a family of 3 bright kids. James loves all kinds of musical activities from playing in big bands to directing local choral groups to arranging music. Ok, he admits it: James McBride is a true music fanatic yet serious artist. He would love to play some soft jazz for you!

James created this Christmas collection for those who need a break around the holidays. He encourages the harried shopper or parent or worker to take a few moments for themselves, to get a nice cup of hot chocolate (don't forget the marshmellows) and sit by the Christmas tree and roaring fire as you listen to "Jazz from Heaven Christmas!"

James plays the Mateki flute, Yamaha pro soprano saxophone, and Korg Triton Le Workstation. His daughter, Julie McBride, plays the Yamaha digital piano on "A Christmas Medley."

In his spare time, James loves to fix up old houses.
