The Bay Shake
This is another one of my hybrid new and old album releases. This is an 18 track release with some old and new school flavors. The songs include:
1. Adventure - Lyrics that are ment ta highten your adventure. The all time classic
2. Bedtime Story- This is sarcastically telling my peoples that it really isn't bedtime and they shouldn't be sleeping on the issues. somewhat political this song is truly a treat production and content.
3. Bounce (PB) - This is the original version off the Pitch Black CD of 1996. The remix appears on Soul Plantations - Old School Hip Hop Volume I
4. Club Love - Is a pretty cool track about showin love in the club when the dj gets you high. I like the beat and the flow is kinda mello..for me at least.
5. The Eve - The point right before the celbrated date. Like bassway is on the eve of breaking.
6. Gatekeeper (b) - an attempted remaster of the classic from the Libra Times II cd.
7. In The Groove - This song was made a long time ago. I couldn't let go of it so it's on this cd. Pretty much for the fans who want all of Johnny Afro's various material.
8. Jubwa jammin - This along with number 2 is one of my favorite songs on the cd. The flow changes up and reflects various styles. This song really is a pleasure to listen to.
9. Jubwa - was originally release on the Bass Creator 12" under Nation Def Grooves in the 80's.
10. Jumpin - Another oldy but goody reflecting styles of times gone by.
11. Let the words flow - This is like spoken word and rap hip hop all in one. Basically let the words flow..
12. Nuttin dis funky - beat by Joe McNeil of J&J - monalogue flow. pretty interesting very old school vibe.
13. Outta Control (b) - an attempted remaster of Outta Control featuring Stagmotta.com on the beat from the Johnny Afro album follow the instructins.
14. Power Comes Easy - This is a good one and in my top 5 for this cd. Spoken word type rap over a bumpin beat.
15. Serpent - Originally produced in the 90's for insomniac. But he wasn't feelin it. So I rapped on it and kept the same song name since that was the name of the beat for so long.
16. Sophie (b) - A re-release from the Chop Shop Album by Johnny Afro about dear fine Sophia
17. Super Natural Powers - This is like a redo of the original Supernatural powers where the beat has become .. Lovin' You with Karen Gerdine. I'm not sure if or when the original will be released to the public.
18. The Bay Shake - Got your girl Gloria Scott a platinum selling artist of the 70's to sing some stuff for me. Sheeee I had to put it out.
This ain't 1989 ain't even 1999... Can you feel it....?
