Jorge Jaramilloâs career is punctuated by great musical achievements, He scored a hit with his single âShiny Disco Ballsâ, making him a house-hold name and catapulting him to global acceptance in the âHouseâ world. âShiny disco Ballsâ was the first house track ever featured on Play Stationâs âDance Dance Revolutionâ. It became an international dance floor anthem and also spent eight weeks in the UK top 40 chart.

He played live in front of millions of people during the âTop of the Popsâ performance of his song âShiny Disco Ballsâ. Jorge Jaramillo also received 2 back to back Winter Music Conference awards, one for âbest house trackâ and the other for âbest underground trackâ. But despite his success, Jorge Jaramillo remains grounded about his good fortunes and achievements.

On Subliminal/SUBUSA Records, Jorge Jaramillo has released numerous singles and remixes as well as full length albums and compilations such as âSubliminal Winter Sessions 3 & 4" mix compilation series, and most recent âGirlz Rock da House Musicâ on Lectro Chik Records. His song Shiny Disco Balls was the first âUnderground House Trackâ ever broadcasted on daytime radio in North Americaâs WKTU and was # 15 in the U.K. top 40 chart, landing him the front covers of both I-DJ and DJ Magazines.

Raised in Miami, Jorge Jaramillo became a DJ because he 'âfell in love with electronic musicâ . âAt a young age, I was the only kid in school carrying around a portable radio, I had a friend that was heavily into New York mix tapes. My friend was the only person in my town that had access to mix tapes from New York. It was âold school hip hopâ and the song âPlanet Rock was what slapped me in the face and made ME say âyeah...party peopleâ!.

Jorge Jaramillo soon became a battle style DJ for a Miami Bass group Vicious Bass of which he was also the co-founder and performer. In 1989, Vicious Bassâ first hit âShake That Thangâ was quickly added to regular rotation on Power 96, this was his first taste of fame. â I just thought this is itâ! Had I not been a success at an early age, I may have ended up in gangs and jail. I loved getting into trouble, but DJing soon became such a passion that I no longer had time to find troubleâ.

Productions soon flowed like clockwork and Jorge Jaramillo found himself touring THE DIRTY SOUTH (the Southern United States), with his group Vicious Bass. âI was part of this new phenomenon known as booty music (what is today now known as âCrunkâ or âSouthern Hip-Hopâ) and we where blowing away the âbig namesâ such as Kwameâ, Poor Righteous Teachers and Queen Latifa in record sales. I was on top of the world.â

Though known for his pioneering contributions to the âMiami Bassâ scene, Jorge Jaramilloâs new found love was âHouse Musicâ the genre which he has embraced as his life and for life. The self proclaimed creator of the âChick House Musicâ genre, a genre showcasing and bringing female vocalists to the fore-front of well produced and chart topping Underground House. His productions and DJ set, ranges from âhands in the airâ peak time hits, to electro and dirty house. Jorge Jaramillo is also known for an energetic and fun performance. â The audience love what I play, I make it a great clubbing experience for everyone, especially the girlz. I can get dirty in my set, but women donât really dig that all night, so I end up playing for them, and that is a good thingâ!.
