Indie Rock, Mod, Power-Pop, Psych-Pop
11 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: British Pop
Details:
Quiet Kid's debut album for Needledrop Records, Somewhere, was completed in Late 2004, and was engineered and produced by Mike Hagler (Wilco, Neko Case, The Mekons) at Kingsize Sound Labs in Chicago.
Throughout the course of the disc, the band hint at, and pay homage to, the likes of The Who, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Pavement, T-Rex, Swervedriver, The Shangri-La's, Syd Barrett, The Charlatans UK, The Velvet Underground, and a whole host of additional Mod and Post-Mod influences.
To date, cuts from Somewhere like "Dollface" and "Where's The Fashion?" have already made it to airplay on WXRT, WLUW and WZZN in Chicago.
Alternative Press Magazine called Quiet Kid's music, "Battered indie pop with sweeping melodies, spikey arrangements and failed romantic sentiments."
