BLUES: Texas Style, BLUES: Rockin' Blues
Details:
Rick DâAntonio was born in Nashville, TN. in July of 1977. He lived there as a child until he was in his early twenties and started playing guitar at the age of eleven. All though country music was what he grew up around as a child, he was first influenced by blues musicians like B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Jeff Healy. He studied under his first guitar teacher Ed Blakely for four or five years and continued to learn with him, playing guitar on his fatherâs demos and picking up tricks of the trade from Ed on recording and album production that made a lasting impression for years to come. Although country and blues had a big impression on Rickâs playing early on, he also started getting into bands like Metallica, Alice in Chains, Van Halen and Ozzy. His playing style was mostly blues based in earlier years, but he was influenced by metal and classic rock just as much as the blues. Recently, he has worked with up and coming musician Deb Barber, playing guitar on her album The Best of Life contributing guitar solos and musical ideas with her legendary manager Buddy Greco and also played an incendiary solo on Debâs cover of Carlos Santanaâs Evil Ways that would make even Carlos wonder if it wasnât himself playing the same classic solo. Rick continues to write, record, and produce his own songs, never settling for second best and is always striving to make his playing and songwriting the best it possibly can be.
