Details:
When he got a hold of a digital video camera, Run Doris Run lead guitarist Steven Peterson began filming a hamster named Doris. As the time lap setting clicked away and the cameraâs battery went dead Doris still ran the wheel. The camera was then set right outside Run Doris Run drummer Mike Oncley practice studio/garage and time lapsed Doris. Doris happens to also be the 75-year-old woman that runs over any time bassist Jared Wesley turns up his amp and shakes the windows. Bring on Run Doris Run.
You could hear guitarist and vocalist Ryan Koppel over the PA yelling Five More Songs Then You Can Go Home. Only fitting for title of the first EP.
Five More Songs Then You Can Go Home burns with what took place the summer of 2005. The single Winning Genevieve sets the tone for a summer and the album as âWinning Genevieveâ sent me to a new level. A level that said itâs now or never. It was the point that brought all of us together and new that we needed this album to be greatâ. Ryan
âWe wrote most of all of Five More Songs Then You Can Go Home in Long Beach California outside at malls and parks. Some lady walked by us and handed me $10 one day. She told me that I needed some lessons and I figured I did. I saw her again later that month and she gave me a $20 and told me that I was going to be a star. I figure I will.â Jared Wesley
The best way to listen at Run Doris Run and understand the music is to step outside the pop punk bubble and venture in more towards a classic, multi level of sound. The lyrics are strait forward and carry some humor and truth. Think of it as something that you want to drive really fast to, but at the same time move your hand down the girl or guyâs pants thatâs sitting in the car seat next to you. Itâs a little dangerous but fun. Do not try this at home.
Over the years Run Doris Run has gotten the chance to play with some great bands that they know you would love, some of these bands are as follows:
The Dead 60's
This Day and Age
The Plain White T's
The Matches
Reeve Oliver
Victory Season
Stacy Clark
Down To Earth Approach
Morningwood
and Sherwood
