Hollywood Power Rockers Authentic Hollywood Metal Crowd Tested Power Rock
10 MP3 Songs
METAL: Power Metal, METAL: Heavy Metal
Details:
This album was the first RUDE AWAKENING recording that featured the band's Hollywood line-up. Fresh from Richmond, Virginia, bassist Robert Ryder, vocalist Tony Taylor, and guitarist Tom Hirsch tried to make it work by auditioning drummers, but to no avail. Tony succumbed to drugs and a hatred of the Hollywood scene, Tom's dad drove from Arizona to pick him up, and Robert was left alone. He decided the best way to get new members was to steal them from other bands, so he planned to go on auditions for bass players, and see if he could either grab the players or push the band into doing Rude Awakening songs. He ended up going to an audition for a band who needed both a vocalist and a bassist. It was there that he met vocalist Frankie Chance, from New York, a former marine who was trying to find a band. The band liked Bob, but didn't like Frankie. Bob liked Frankie, but didn't like the band. So, they decided to start Rude Awakening back up with a new line-up, and began auditioning players. They ended up with guitarist Peter Volt, and drummer Kai Ballard. The band then began gigging furiously and writing new songs and re-introducing old Rude Awakening songs. They ended up with 'WAKE UP AND SMELL THE PAVEMENT" an invigorating mix of both new and old songs, revamped by the new more metal (and 80's sounding) style. Frankie ended up leaving the band after a tour and many live shows in and around Hollywood. Kai Ballard went on to play wit Snoop Dogg on Saturday Night Live, and Peter Volt disappeared and was last seen begging for change on the streets of North Hollywood. Check out this flashback to the origins of one of Hollywood's finest heavy metal/hard rock bands. It is their second record and has never been released on CD or digitally before now. A rarity.
