Welcome to the crossroads of R&B and Rock & Roll. Rush Hour Soul (RHS) is a multi-ethnic trio from North Hollywood, CA. They play Rock & Roll that is deeply rooted in R&B. Their group influences range from Prince to the Rolling Stones. What comes through is a unique sound and a blazing live act that is a mixture of rock & roll revue and dance party. Their songs are filled with hooks and grooves to get everyone moving on the dance floor.
Rush Hour Soul's latest release is a self-titled, self-produced EP. It features 2 songs that have topped the charts on iRadio's Indie Airplay (http://www.suite108.com): "A Talent For Loving" & "Done Lost My Mind." As a result, RHS was invited to do an in-studio interview and acoustic performance for iRadio's The Monday Show with Sara Routh. These podcasts are available on iTunes.
RHS is led by charismatic singer & bass player Norm Kelsey. Kelsey's energy on stage is contagious and he has visual flare to burn as he sings, shouts and dances. Lead guitarist Bryan Farrar brings the rock element home, powering through riffs and memorable solos. Doug Gordon provides the rhythmic backbone and brings a cool presence to the stage. They played together for 2 years prior to unleashing Rush Hour Soul. Being a multi-ethnic act, they appeal to a broad audience. Their sound has club audiences around Los Angeles bobbing and weaving from the opening notes.
