Eric's debut release combines fusion, pop music, and acoustics with smooth vocals
11 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Acoustic, POP: Delicate
Details:
It all started in December of 1999, when Eric received his first guitar as a holiday gift. Right away he did everything he could to learn as much as possible about the guitar. Using old piano skills, the internet, books, and his ear, Ericâs talent prevailed. In June of that year, Eric wrote his first song, River of Resolution, and made his debut performance at The Point in Bryn Mawr, eagerly hopping onstage at an Open Mic. Night.
Five years later, Eric was writing songs nonstop, combining elements of jazz, funk, pop, and rock music with smooth vocals. He connected with Brian Bricklin, a longtime musician, engineer, and producer in the Philadelphia area. Together, the two began recording "Suddenly" in February of 2005. "It really came together in a way I didnât expect," says Eric, of the recording process. "I had a lot of drastically different songs, and they somehow came together to fit into one album, but each tracks still has its own brand of mood and flavor."
A variety of different musicians also appear on the record. Some are former teachers, while others are just friends he was eager to collaborate with. The album also features Erik Johnson, formerly of Huffamoose. Despite the heavy rotation of personnel, Eric currently plays with a band, and is lining up gigs in the Philadelphia area. At 17 years of age, Eric is eager and excited to share "Suddenly" with a wide, music-loving audience.
