Barb has a bluesy jazzy style from sultry to swing-fully orchestrated

10 MP3 Songs
JAZZ: Smooth Jazz, JAZZ: Swing/Big Band

Details:
Barb Started songwriting and performing at age 14 at local fairs and concerts. At 15 she joined a band called "White Heat" playing a memorable sizzling electric rhythm guitar. Her originals developed into blues, Texas swing, folk and then Bosa Nova music. The song "Get Outta Town "Dec 1993 ranked first in the world competition of Broadjam, as the top blues song in the world of professional musicians.

Barb had her own jazz band from Philadelphia called "Barbie and the Shineheads" (for lack of hair on the other bandmemembers). Playing Irish and jazz to sellout crowds, they later broke apart, and Barb decided to go solo. Her first CD entitled 'Out of the Blue ' is a conglomerate of jazz/pop/folk styles. She is backed by Ron Kerber of the OJs and Dan Kleiman - director of the Philadelphia '76ers Jazz band, and Siora Jazz keyboard artist.

Barb's songs have been aired on five radio stations, cable tv, and have been covered from east to west coast by other jazz bands. Look for mystic and surprising touches in John Maguire and Gone Again.
