11 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Acoustic, POP: Folky Pop
Details:
Jason Reischel was born in New York and raised in the music-rich town of Asheville, North Carolina. Jason first picked up a guitar at the age of six and remembers hearing George Harrison once say: "If they (John and Paul) can write songs, then why canât I?" That struck a chord with Jason and before he completed junior high school he composed his first song.
Flash forward to Sept. 11, 2001. After the horrible events of that day Jason started furiously composing music, inspired by the nakedness and raw emotion of true Americana. "The first 100 songs I wrote did not seem to have lasting power, but I think you need to write 100 songs or so before composing your first good one ... 'good' meaning music that resonates with people; songs that reflect the essence of being human and that speak of the interconnectedness of all that is good."
"Brown Bridge & Green Bridge" is Jasonâs first full-length solo album, and his new material differs from prior compositions, especially his lyrics. âI don't just put words down to fill out a melody any more. I put a lot of thought into the message ... the words I am relaying to the audience. I feel there is a certain amount of magic in the new material. Iâm the first to admit that Iâve written bad songs before, so I make sure that everything coming out of my editing phase, which is kind of like pouring water through a strainer, is something important I want to say and to share with the audience."
Since moving to New York City two years ago, Jason regularly performs at The Bitter End, Pianos, Sidewalk Café, and CBGBâs Gallery.
A portion from each CD sold will be donated to The Libby Ross Foundation. The Libby Ross Foundation's mission is to make a significant difference in the lives of women afflicted with breast cancer through unique support programs and to help eradicate the disease through research and early detection.
