Details:
The Residence was formed in late August 2003 when 4 Tufts University Resident Assistants decided to have a jam session in their dorm on campus. Immediately, the 4 musicians felt a strong bond by playing together and decided it was time to start a band. Soon after jamming, the group found Clark Casey, a bassist from Cincinnati. The groupâs feel for each other quickly grew and within one month of playing the together, the band was playing at local colleges around New England as well as bars in the greater Boston area. The acoustic pop rock band has created a name for themselves in the Tufts community and has gained some very loyal fans. By March of 2004, they had already released their first EP and went on a tour of New England colleges. The Residence finished their spring semester at Tufts University with a bang by headlining the famous Somerville Theater in Davis Square. Past acts include Dispatch, Guster, Nelly Furtado, and even the Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen. In addition to headlining the show, they decided to give all of the proceeds from the show to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The Residence has played many shows for charities including The Salvation Army, Mystic River Water Watch, Tufts Womenâs Awareness, AIDS as well as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. They have high hopes for the future and are currently shopping major music labels as their fan-base continues to steadily grow.
