GOSPEL: Contemporary Gospel, EASY LISTENING: Mood Music
Details:
Each one of us desires a deeper relationship and a greater intimacy with God. We were created for it! These songs are meant to encourage you to listen to, and pursue, that longing within you for intimacy with God... to seek the Lord with all your heart... and find him!
"...Then you will call upon me and go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD..." (Jeremiah 29:12-14 NKJV)
Influenced by the music of Enter the Worship Circle, early Jennifer Knapp, and Ginny Owens, REFLECT is a tasteful blend of harmonies, percussion, biblical lyrics, and acoustic instruments such as guitar, piano, bass, violin and cello.
Reflect has at its core the husband-and-wife duo, Daniel and Catherine Lovett who have been making music together since 2000. Reflect directs their lyrics heavenward. They seek to play for an audience of One, yet at the same time they invite you to use these songs as your own personal prayers and praise to God. They share their music throughout Northeast Wisconsin where they live.
Their self-titled debut album has a "live" sound, as if the band were right there in your living room worshiping with you. In their songs they convey a sense of intimacy and a passion for Godâs presence.
Songs in the Spotlight - Sweetness of Surrender:
We are all created to worship. We find freedom when we learn to worship our Creator and Savior Jesus. One song I would like to highlight, the only one not written by the band is "Sweetness of Surrender". This song was written by a friend who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. As she struggled through this difficult time in her life, she learned to trust God and found comfort in Christ's love. She wrote a poem and shared it with us. I believe it is God's intent to bring this song to others that they would find the same comfort in Jesus that she has found.
Psalm 139:
This song is not only fun to listen to, it is the very first song that we wrote together. If we could really get a hold of how much love God has for us it would move us. It would overwhelm us. It would change us. We all have this in common: we were all created by the same Person, for the same Person.
