A smooth blend of sugar with just enough spice. Just when you think you have her "pegged" you canât help feeling as if sheâs whispering secrets in your ear at one moment, and kicking you out the door and throwing your clothes out the window the next.
6 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Folk Blues, POP: Folky Pop
Details:
Rebecca Lynneâs music can be difficult to pigeonhole into one defining genre. Yes, you can draw comparisons to Sarah McLaughlin, Jewel, and Norah Jones, but Rebecca Lynne really has a sound that is unique to her. Possessing a unique mixture of folk, pop, and jazz along with a voice that could stand alone with its emotion and richness, leaves the listener wanting more.
Her lyrics are intriguing and honest. With words that reveal both her vulnerability and her strength, she uncovers the longing and elation sheâs experienced in her life. That multi-dimensional facet of her lyrics creates some powerfulâand sometimes conflictingâemotions. Listening to her music, you canât help feeling as if sheâs whispering secrets in your ear at one moment, and kicking you out the door and throwing your clothes out the window the next. But thatâs why her lyrics ring so trueâjust as in life, pain and happiness come and go without warning.
Rebecca finished her first CD, "Everyday Blues" in 2004. It was released at the Night of Dreams Showcase, held at the BTI center in downtown Raleigh. On the CD, youâll not only hear Rebecca, but also a talented group of musicians. Together with John Currie (lead guitar), Sébastien Guyader (bass), and Chris Johnson (keys), Rebecca has impressed crowds at many venues in Raleigh, Carborro, Cary, and surrounding areas in NC.
Rebecca will be working on a new, scaled down, album by this summer (2006). Check back soon!
