The Renee Douglas Duo is composed of Renee Burnett and Doug Onstad. They collaborated in 2003 and 2004 in Northern California playing at many clubs and events during that time. This album is a representation of that collaboration.
Renee Burnett has been a solo performer for many years. She is known as a powerful vocalist and an accomplished guitarist. Stylistically, she has a strong folk and blues base and has written and performed many songs in these genres. Renee has performed for many years in the Northern California coffee house scene as well as in various Christian music venues.
Doug Onstad was a rock musician in the 70's and 80's in the Northern California area. He is a songwriter, keyboardist and vocalist. He performed with many bands in this time period and appeared at the Montreaux Jazz and Pop Festival and Nyon Folk Festival in 1978 in Switzerland. In the '90's, Doug developed an interest in recording and has subsequently recorded and produced a number of albums for Owl Productions.
The Renee Douglas Duo represents a synergistic blending of strong songwriting and performing . Soaring and tight harmonies along with introspective lyrics and strong melodies characterize the songs. The Duo has often been described as both lyrical and funky at the their performances.
