The one woman band that will sweeten your nightmares and haunt your dreams.
5 MP3 Songs
ELECTRONIC: Experimental, ROCK: Progressive Rock
Details:
The music that will sweeten your nightmares and haunt your dreams is the best way to describe the songs of Reveries by Moonlight, a one woman band started by 24 year old Leah Rosen.
The intensely dark and experimental, yet catchy compositions on Leahs debut Reveries by Moonlight album, Bedroom Recordings for a Strange Nights Sleep EP, were inspired by an eclectic range of influences. These included but werent limited to; Danny Elfman, Bjork, Fiona Apple, The Beatles and Frank Sinatra. Each track on the album is unique, and is its own piece of artwork as described by Leah.
The distorted guitar chords, melodic harmonies, and unexpected rhythm changes in Map of Disturbing Dreams make this song one of the catchiest and most surprising tunes on the album. The Second concludes the album with a mysterious silvery mix of deep drumbeats, echoing vocals and dynamic synthesizer.
Leah played guitar and keyboard, sang, wrote, recorded, produced and mixed everything on her album. Even though her recording equipment is far below industry standards, Leah hopes to show the world that anything is possible when it comes to music, as long as you have enough love, passion and drive for it.
Leah has been playing various instruments and singing since she was four years old. She started writing and recording music on her own in 2002. Leah was inspired to write Nightmare Street in 2005 when she was diagnosed with a rare sleep disorder that causes her to awaken to paralysis and nightmarish hallucinations. After getting a positive response to her new song, Leah decided to start an entire music project that would revolve around the same dark, experimental sound that Nightmare Street portrayed. This was the beginning of Reveries by Moonlight.
The Bedroom Recordings for a Strange Nights Sleep EP was released by a brand new indie label, Stethophone Records, which was also started by Leah.
