Redemption was formed in Boston in 2005. The band features knock out riffs and face melting leads, influenced by the great rock /metal bands of all time. The fact that 16-year-old high school dudes would be chosen to be the âredeemers,â and keepers of the sacred flame has taken on the status of urban myth.
It goes something like this here. One weekend, back a few years, one of the band memberâs daddy was passed out in a stupor in front of the TV while A Monster Of Rock tape played and re-played in the tape machine. The classic sounds of Sabbath, Metallica, Maiden and Wylde, in an endless loop. The young whippersnapper, transfixed, pried the guitar out of the fingers of his comatose father and proceeded to play and play and play until the message was instilled. The father awoke and later claimed a white light filled the room, but he was hammered so no one believed him. Bullshit? What do you think?
Whatever⦠from the anthemic, classic sound of, Honor and Pride, to doomsday musings of Apocalypse and Black Path. Then finally after the dust settles, the atmospheric Melancholy closes out this strong, debut set from Redemption.
