Details:
Funk-Rock
n.
A vintage, soulful, bad temper of epic propulsion characterized by syncopated rhythm and a hostile, receptive bass line. A culture-skew of music integrating a variety of elements as merged from the classic rock, urban funk, and blues genre. A dancing cadence for the Rx Generation.

RealBeEasyâs
Adv.-Past Participle- Adj. (pl)
A melting pot of raw talent, free expression, and cataclysmic feud.

A beat flows in Brooklyn, and all around it, a vicious city bustle dissolves and shatters the reverberations as they emanate from the depths of a dim studio sound cell. A solitary cubicle among cubicles and they each reverb like tectonic plates, bantering melodies all on top of one another. Most of them contain dusty dreams of those destined for musical declination. But surfacing amongst the rubble ascends the most prolific sound to hit the New York bar scene in years; a melting pot of raw talent, free expression, and cataclysmic feud that can only be described as the RealBeEasyâs.
TRBEâs Evan Jaffee (guitar, lead vocals) explains that the Easyâs are âthree guys who all knew what they wanted out of the world and out of their instrument real early in life,â adding that âOur personalities match our instruments.â Hailing from Great Neck, NY, Evan Jaffee has played in various bands since the age of 10. At Boston University, Jaffee met future Easyâs Bassist Paul Testagrossa where the two became good friends and soon formed Down the Hall, winner of the 2004 Boston University Battle of the Bands Competition. Paul Testagrossa (bass, background vocals), who played with Zach Thomas (drums, background vocals) in the Xaverian High School band Riddler, was the linking force which brought together the three artists who teamed up in 2005 to form the RealBeEasyâs in order to revolutionize rock nâ roll for the Rx generation.
For the past year and a half, TRBE has passed through all of NYCâs hottest venues, including shows at The Bitter End, Knitting Factory, Arleneâs Grocery, and Webster Hall. In 2006, TRBEâs were featured at the US finals of EMERGENZA, âthe most prominent international musical contest for up and coming bands,â which was comprised of 38,249 bands from all over the world.
In June 2006, TRBEâs dropped their debut album Live On Flatbush, featuring the hit singles Life With My Knife, Come the Revolution, and Cut me Off. The currently unsigned RealBeEasyâs have been shaping their sound, and plan to release a new album in November 2006. Fans can look forward to the rhythmic funkamation of hits like DâFunkât and the Kerouac-inspired tousled deluge, On the Road.
The Easyâs have a unique pulse of chaotic thrill that melds the influences of the raw, energetic, youthful Red Hot Chili Peppers with the classic ingenuity of Led Zeppelin. âWhen we construct a song, it needs to funk or rock off the bat,â says Jaffee, ââ¦Itâs the mood in the room, the attitude that conjures the songâ¦we call that fued- you know, the mayhem from other parts of our lives that we bring into the room.â
Defining them as a revolutionary genre known as âFunk Rock,â The Real Be Easyâs write songs with balls. Pauly Tâs illusionary Bass strokes move quicker than the eye can fathom as Zachâs explosive percussion barrage throbs at the stardom. Balancing both these elements is Jaffee; vicious on the chords. But the truth is, words can only say so much. The Easyâs and their inimitable sound begs to be heard, in order to be felt; to be understood. They have a gift, the unique ability to make music about âpassing the moonshine and saying what you need to say.â

âLately, if the sun donât shine, then the ice donât melt, and weâre frozen in time.â
