Resonant Soul is a rock band with a wide range of outside influences. Catchy, yet dramatic vocals often provide the melody over hard-hitting, raw guitar riffs, while the bass and drums provide a spine of intertwined groove.

Details:
Once upon a time, the loyal fans of Resonant Soul knew the band by a different name: Banana Fudge. Banana Fudge was formed in 1997 by a group of underachieving delinquents at Lake High School, a small suburban school near Toledo, OH. The original lineup consisted of John Fowler on lead guitar, Anthony Beck on the drums, Clappy slappinâ bass, Somog on rhythm guitar, and Big Dick Lindell on vocals. In the beginning, the band was just a hobby; possibly the only legal one among the band members. The name Banana Fudge, a reference to Big Dickâs anal sexcapades (with women), was created for their first gig, which was at the school. A small fan base was quickly built around the area, so the name just stuck. As time went on, some of the guys wanted to more seriously pursue the possibilities their music, while others wanted to more seriously pursue the possibilities of getting stoned. So, one by one, Big Dick, Somog, and Clappy faded out of the band, and were eventually replaced by Josh Bock and Dan Fowler. The ânewâ band continued to play around the Toledo area under the name Banana Fudge. They also recorded their first independent album, âSteal the Who-Ha,â at the University of Toledo as one of Johnâs class projects. Although the equipment used was less than desirable, John earned an âAâ as the recording engineer for the project (a very rare grade in his college career). After Big Dick left the band, Anthony took over the lead vocal duties, and eventually wanted to get out from behind the drum set to try out the front man role. At this point, in 2003, the band took on their fifth and final member, Rick Acker. Rick grew up in Akron, OH and attended college at Bowling Green State University, where he met the band. With a new drummer, a new stage presence, and a keyboard thrown into the mix (played by Anthony), a new sound and feel was achieved. The band finally decided to change their name to Resonant Soul, which is a reference to how they view the song writing process. They believe that music comes from the soul, not the brain nor the hands. Therefore, the music that you play is what your soul âsoundsâ like. It is a resonation of your soul. Since this milestone in the bandâs career, they have recorded two independent albums, âMachineâ and âStillwater,â which have, so far, sold a combined total of 2,000 copies, and have experienced regular airplay on radio stations such as 104.7 WIOT, 106.5 The Zone, and 88.3 WXUT. They recently broke out of the Toledo area, having played shows in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago, Columbus, and Bowling Green and have shared the stage with The Misfits, Whitesnake, Jefferson Starship, Five Horse Johnson, Gatsbyâs American Dream, Speakerfire, and Ron Jeremy. Resonant Soul is a very dedicated band that aspires to continually expand their fan base around the country, and eventually around the globe.
