Opie finds a stray dog and asks Andy if he can keep him. Andy tells opie he can keep him if he keeps him outside. Meanwhile Barney receives a reply to his application for States funds to upgrade the Sheriffs Office and Jail and to expect a State Investigator that will be coming to do an audit. Later on Opie tells Andy that the dog ran away. When they get back to the Sheriffs Office they find 4 Stray dogs. Barney takes it upon himself to get rid of the dogs and inlists Otis to take them home with him so the State investigator doen't see them. They all run away from him when he gets home, but they show up again at the Sheriffs Office but now there are 11 dogs...
