-------HOW R.A.W. RECORDZ BEGAN-------

R.A.W. RECORDZ (READ'EM AND WEEP RECORDZ) began in the year 2002. Founded by SUPER PRODUCER FINGA RAW. Robert Houston A.K.A. FINGA RAW had his eye on music and how it was created, so he took Orchestra/band lessons in his early years of school. Starting in the 3rd grade, FINGA RAW began taking lessons at Claymont Elementary playing violin, then later switched to the viola. He learned viola for a semester then switched to playing BASS. He stayed in the Orchestra/band until his sophmore year of High school. During his sophmore year he attended Parkway West High. FINGA RAW peformed in concerts realizing he loved to entertain people. During those school years he later became a member at HOUSE OF PRAYER WEST, and decided to play drums for the church choir. He later put two and two together, and decided to start producing music. Starting off with a plain keyboard with simple drum patterns, and a few instrument sounds, he began recording beats. In his senior year he attended Sumner Mega Magnet High, and then began showcasing his talent on the school bus, beating on windows, or whatever he could get a solid sound from. Friends he knew began to notice his skill in making beats. Word got around in school that he knew how to make beats, so he then began making beats at lunch time. FINGA RAW didn't know making beats on the lunch table would draw a crowd. "Everybody came over to see me make beats. I even had people rapping to it", says FINGA RAW. All he needed was a Fruitopia bottle for tha snare, a pencil or pen for the high hats, and his hand for the bass. He even had security come over and check him out. Finga raw didn't know making beats would get him suspended from school. Acting as his lawyer, his big sister Adrienne got him back in school. "She really let the assistant principle have it" says, FINGA RAW. Back at home he had a friend who calls himself G-Smoke which stands for Gun Smoke. G-Smoke then introduced FINGA RAW to the group, who called themselves Raw Deal. The group Raw Deal came up with the name FINGA RAW, because of the skill he had with his fingers. Then FINGA RAW purchased his first beat machine, (MC-303) then began making hits for Raw Deal. FINGA RAW started networking with diffrent goups like GOOD AS GOLD, where he met MACK RUSH, who introduced him to a studio called VIP. "I never been in a studio before, and the feeling of being in the control room.... man it was the best" says, FINGA RAW. Being in control of a project is the best feeling a producer can have.
FINGA RAW began adding more artists to his label. Just starting off he had about 5 members in Raw Deal, 3 in Good As Gold, and many more artists. His main group consisted of Blu, Rome, LB, G-Smoke, and K.O. In Good As Gold you had Mack Rush, and Beni Blanco,and Ol Boy. Both groups did shows all over SAINT LOUIS. The newest members to R.A.W. RECORDZ are Tiffany Houston A.K.A. BAM BAM, Nakarla Bejamin A.K.A. PEBBLES, and the LOU BOYZ, who's names are SPOT, BEZZY, SHINE PO, and E3. The hit album R.A.W.RECORDZ presents READ'EM AND WEEP is one of the best album compilations your going to find coming out of SAINT LOUIS MISSOURI.
