Description:

(ID 1418281)
Chicago Hip Hop/Rap.. Ram is hood, arrogant, and aggresive. Sort of Cross between Busta Jay-Z and Talib Kweli.. The production (Ram and Brother Truth) is flawless with frequent comparisons to Kanye West, Hi-Tek, and Dr. Dre.. And extremely entertaining

12 MP3 Songs
HIP HOP/RAP: Rap, HIP HOP/RAP: Hardcore Rap

âLook At Meâ Ram Great

In 2002 Marcell âRamâ Fitzgerald was faced with two the toughest realizations in his life; He wouldnât be going to the NBA, and most importantly, that he was a Father. On August 12th 2002 Marcell Joshua Fitzgerald was born, and it was at this point where Ram was forced to make some critical decisions. One of the first decisions he made was to stop pursuing a career in professional basketball.
Being a neighborhood legend of Chicagoâs ruthless âK-Townâ playgrounds, and a Pro-Am and Junior College standout, he was well known for his basketball talent. But after difficulties dealing with the sometimes-demanding task of being a student/athlete, he grew tired of the college basketball system, and begins to get in trouble. âI would get into fights with the coaches, teammates, and are opponents out of frustrationâ¦. I was broke at school, and the small towns would make that reality worstâ.
Ram quit basketball and went on to graduate in 2003 from Barat College, and once he graduated he made the decision to pursue a career in Rap. âI graduated just to feel as if I completed something⦠I never wanted a corporate jobâ. Ram along with his brother Marcus âTruthâ and best friend âGizzâ started OneShadowRecords in 2002. The three had been rapping since they were young. Truth had purchased 2500 dollars worth of equipment with his college loans, and started a buzz in the city with a group entitled TRUEMAN. Realizing that music was their calling, they decided to organize and sale records in the streets to create a buzz. Their first release entitled âPotholesâ was a big hit in the streets.
The infant label sold records on the busy street intersections of Chicago. After proving to the sometimes-insatiable Chicago Rap/Hip-Hop audience that OneShadow was a force, record sales of their first LP âPotholesâ increased, and OneShadow created a buzz in the streets. Ram was known as the MC with the deep and threatening voice, and at a height of 6â 5â his words were easy to believe. The label continued to drop records releasing six records between 03â and 05â. It was not just on the street intersections that you could catch the OneShadow members, but also on the city trains.
After the success of selling approx 15,000 (untraceable) underground CDs, OneShadow wants to take it to the next level. Confident that the streets will be more supportive, and that online sales will be beneficial, OneShadow plans to grab the attention of the Major Record Labels. The first album to be released online (with a Bar Code for traceable sales) is Ramâs âLook At Meâ. According to Truth (MC/Producer) âHeâs the most ready MC I have⦠Heâs completing tracks in an hour.â âLook At Meâ is a journey with Ram from his early life experiences on the gritty K-Town streets, his experiences during his professional basketball career pursuit, all the way to his quest to make it in the music industry.
Check out the "Look At Me" LP and you are guaranteed to feel his pain and glory. The listener will know that he/she is not alone in the pursuit to acheive the "impossible", and its Ram objective to prove that you must be satisfied with the smaller acheivements first. And whatâs "sweet" is that as you travel with him you will be enthralled by the flawless production and MCing. Look At Ram then... Look At yourself.
