Esoteric Space Klezmer is a blend of klezmer, jazz, rock, funk, Middle Eastern, and Afro-Latin traditions that has astounded audiences, beguiled bohemians, captivated critics, delighted debutantes, etc.!

The Rabbinical School Dropouts are a vital part of the last decade's resurgence in cutting-edge Jewish music. Central to this resurgance was the re-realization that change is an critical component of the authentic Jewish musical tradition. This new authenticism did not dispute the validity or worth of conservatory-style recreation of past musical moments, but did vigorously dispute the idea that mere recreation ever constituted the core of Jewish musical practice. To take an example, the Dropouts don't think that Naftule Brandwein (the seminal clarinetist of American Klezmer) would play the same if was active today as he did in the early 20th century. Resultantly, the Dropouts don't imitate Brandwein or the rest of their esteemed forebears, although you'll hear their echoes on the album.

You'll also hear Arabian Pop, Indian Ragas, jazz, funk, free improvisation, punk, contemporary chamber music, and much more. The Dropouts have benefited from close study of and deep listening to almost every kind of music imaginable, so be ready for a genre-blending ride of epic proportions!
