Details:
Since I was a little girl, I've always sang to myself to get through the dark times in my childhood and there were many. As a teenager, I was introduced to one of country music's legends, Conway Twitty. I met Conway in Charleston, S.C. along with Cal Smith at one of their concerts. It was an honor to get to meet Conway. He was so nice to take the time to talk to me, and give me some important advice. I got to sing with him, we sang "Release Me" together, that's a night I will never forget. That visit with Conway inspired me in so many ways and one of them was to keep on writing songs that come from my heart, and to sing with feeling deep within my soul. So wherever I went in life I would find somewhere to sing.

As the years went by, more and more tough times came along. Through my music and my belief in God, I somehow got through them. To me singing was and still is a great stress release. I learned that each trial you have in life, it should and is meant to make you stronger to endure the next trial that comes along. Life is like school, we're always learning something no matter how old we become. I'm learning to take a negative life and turn into a positive one.

I was in a band (top 40) called "The Rusty Evans Band" in South Florida, and later I went on to form my own band in New Hampshire.

My daughter Gina was born a premature baby, her weight went down to 2pds. 4oz., she struggled to keep alive. She had a massive bleeding inside her brain, destroying two of her ventricles. Her heart stopped a couple of times. She had apnea problems (stop breathing), lung, and liver problems. She went on a machine and had oxygen standing by. At five months, she had a shunt put in her brain to help drain fluid off the brain. Through the years, we lived in and out of hospitals, one operation after another and countless ER visits. Gina is now 18 and now lives with two shunts in her brain and one draining in her heart. I truly believe God is the one that got her through the dark times in the beginning of her life and her will to survive. That's why I wrote "Your the Light in My Eyes" for her and every child to let them know they are truly the light in their parents and grandparents eyes. I do hope this song and music video brings support to children's hospitals and fundraiser events everywhere. It's a parent's song to their child no matter how old the child becomes.

Regarding the song, "It's Her Fight", I wrote this song in memory of my younger sister Loretta who lost her battle to breast cancer on November 18, 1999, and she was a true fighter. My dear brother Robert and stepsister Gail took their time to take care of her, all the way to the end of her life. She had a lot of love around her. She was positive all the way till the end when she fell into a coma and went to rest. I remember rubbing her back so she could breathe, and holding her hand trying to comfort her. I'll always remember how warm and soft her hand was. As she gasped for air, I gasped too. I felt helpless, that I couldn't do anything to ease her pain except tell her I love her, and rubbing her forehead as I kissed her goodbye. I wish we could have been closer when she was alive. Writing this song helps me feel closer to her. Loretta was a beautiful woman, she wasn't married and she didn't have kids but she was the center of our brother Robert's heart. I thank Robert and Gail so much, and respect them for the love and care they gave her. I felt that anyone fighting cancer should have their own song. "It's Her Fight" surrounds a woman's fight with breast cancer but the chorus of the song could apply to either man or woman and any kind of cancer. I make this song real because the disease is real. I hope this song and music video will help all the centers and cancer societies to bring more awareness to the disease, and help with their fundraiser events. It's a fight that we ALL have to fight together.

Also my other song, "It's My Life" brings awareness to domestic violence which also is a big problem in the U.S. The words black and blue in the song don't have to mean just physical abuse it can also mean emotional, mental, verbal abuse as well. I should know, I lived and breathed it myself. If I can help just one person, to open their eyes to the reality of their situation especially if its not safe , listen closely to the words, and keep repeating it to themselves until they are ready to make a move into a new life for themselves and their children.

Besides making four CDs of cover songs, that I recorded in Ormond Beach, Star Studios, I've recently recorded in Nashville my first album of my own songs with Mark Dreyer Productions Studio 23. He's a wonderful producer, and Jeff is an ace at his graphic designing. Mark had top musicians play on my album to give it that great Nashville sound. Just two weeks ago, I went to Nashville to make two music videos featuring my two songs that I like to introduce to the public, each with its own issue. "Your the Light in My Eyes", for children hospitals and to all ill children. "It's Her Fight", to help with cancer awareness.

Right now I perform weekly at Mango's Restaurant / Lounge in South Daytona Beach every Saturday night and at First Turn Restaurant / Lounge on Wednesdays or Fridays. I've also been performing for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life events. I've done two so far, one in Ormond Beach at the Seabreeze High School on April 22nd 2005 and one in Flagler County at the Flagler Palm Coast High School on May 6th 2005. I have another one coming up on July 22nd 2005 and will take place at the Father Lopez High School in Daytona Beach.

There's more to come.........
