Details:
I was born in rural New Brunswick, Canada. A member of the New Brunswick.Country Music Hall of Fame. Have a country band.My mom was born in a covered wagon in Arizona (the song, Folks of Yesterday). Most of my songs are about real life as it was years ago, quiet summer evenings and dusty roads, no hydro or running water.Too young to know about hard times . My songs reflect my childhood and memories, and memories of an older sister teaching me a few chords on an old guitar with worn out strings. In the valley where we lived at that time there was no pollution except the dust from the road by our house and there was not much of that as the cars were few.Music was a big part of my life, playing local venues throughout the area and working as a Forest Ranger, It was not until I retired as a Forest Ranger that I decided to compose some of the things in my life and record them. Most all of my song are about real things in my life or was told about. Most are also about the earlier life of the area. I think people should be aware of the past and not forget what it was like without the finer things in life.I hope some of my songs can take you back to the earlier days of your life.Thank you for listening to my songs and I hope they bring a spark of joy in your life. The first song on my album "No One Left to Sing" is about the quiet little valley where I was bonn and spent my younger years, the youngest of ten children. The song "Never Far Away " is in memory of a dear young friend, constable Danielle Gilles. She was a young member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and died in British Columbia."Baanjo Man" is in memory of and old black banjo player, George Hector, a good friend and musician."Heavens Outlaw was my tribute to the late Waylon Jennings."Folks of Yesterday" is the very true story about my mother, born in Arizona and moving to New Brunswick,Canada in very hard times. On my other album"Home " is the song "The Guardian" , sung by my son Peter who went to Arizona and Utah and travelled the same trails my grand father, his great grand dad rode so many years before. My moms people (my cousins) still run the trail rides in the Grand Canyon with 250 mules and horses(Red Rock Rides )."Lily of the Valley "is about a little old lady who walked to the local store each week and always stopped at our house to rest.We lived at about the halfway point of her ten mile walk."Time" is simply about that. How quickly it passes."Old Fashion Picture" is what I noticed on almost everyones wall, kind of forgotten."The Master" in honour of a good friend and great fiddler, Harold O'Donnell."Judgement Day" is my idea of a gospel song in my area."Goodby Old House " is about the memories I had when leaving the old place where I was born."Little Buddy"s Home" is about a boy and his dog. Something I would like to believe could happen.I hope you can find a song or two that will bring back a few special memories to you. Thank you for listening to and buying my music.
