Details:
Welcome to the Song-A-Day Project!
Last month I returned from the desert with a new mission- to write and record a new song every day for 21 days.
The rules were simple- a song a day, no matter what, and I wouldn't be allowed to go back and "fix" anything. Once it was recorded, that was it. I would post the finished song to my myspace page and then go eat food and talk to people.
This CD is a collection of all 21 songs in the order they were written (plus fancy liner notes and shrink-wrap!) No re-recording. No edits. Just the songs, featuring a variety of themes and instruments.
An incomplete list of themes and instruments, in no particular order:
accoustic and electric guitar
hope
gender roles in the 70's
mandolin
tambourine
insect murder
ee cummings' epitaph
my high school keyboard
dangerous thoughts
a deck of cards (to simulate the sound of tap dancing)
ninjas, and how they train to become ninjas
drums (played at a third grade level)
participating joyfully in the sorrows of the world
piano
nintendo
more hope
So there you have it. Thanks for listening. Please continue rocking.
Right on,
Ryan.
(ps- i wrote this "bio" thing three times in the third person and it was a total train-wreck. first person works much better.)
