Details:
Well, where did this all begin? I grew up on an island in the pacific. The old military base town of Alameda in the San Francisco Bay was home to me until the age of 18. It was there where my musical roots were based. At the age of 13 I started playing guitar and listening to the likes of Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr, Black Flag, Sonic Youth, and many other great bands. I played in various bands during my life in Alameda as well as performing in various school plays and musicals, which was another passion of mine. At 18 I moved to Sonoma County in Northern California to go to college. I continued writing and performing music, occasionally being lucky enough to record some tunes on a friend's 4-track. My love for music continued to flourish in college as I discovered a ton of independent music while working as a DJ on our college radio station. In 2002 I moved to L.A. and decided to continue writing and performing music and have been doing so ever since. In August of 2005 I went into the studio to record some songs and in turn, "Sticks + Stones" was created. This album blends the influences of the bands I was raised on with my own personal take on things. You can hear hints of J Mascis on "It's All You" and "Live In A Room," The Pixies and Nirvana on "Fade," and even some Neil Young and Elliot Smith on acoustic cuts like "The Gulch" and "Moth Seeks Light." You can catch me playing in clubs, opening up for larger acts, or even playing a few songs at a local coffehouse on any given night. I love to meet new people and discuss all kinds of music. If you ever get a chance to see me play, be sure to say hi afterwards.
