Our "BIG WORLD" CD is a collection of original songs, for and by children, that touches on growing up, having fun, being an individual and contributing to our planet.

The story began in Massachusetts in 1978. John was performing with The Living Poem Theatre. This workshop of actors and musicians worked with local grade schools, collecting childrenâs poems and setting them to music. A musical was created which grew into a national tour. Out of this came: "I May Be Small", "I Am A Person", "Come With Me", "Big World" and "My Dog Is So Fat".

Around the same time, Bev was writing "Star Song" for an independent film. Cut to 1992... now a parent, inspired by her children, Bev wrote "Big Spoons", "Inside/Outside", "Up To The Children", "Kapok Tree", and "Garbage".

In 1998 Bev and John formed "The Pinetones", a singing group of twenty 4th and 5th graders at Pine Grove School in Avon, CT, which performed all of this materially locally. Out of this came "It Ain't Easy" and "Rising Stars".

The response to the Pinetones show was so great that the idea of Big World was born... a musical collaboration of children and adults with magical results!
