Top 40 for Grownups
13 MP3 Songs
POP: Quirky, ROCK: Modern Rock
Details:
Melody, Words, Rhythm + Harmony is the first album from Robby Berman, a debutante suspiciously close to geezerhood.
Melody, Words, Rhythm + Harmony's 13 songs are Top 40 songs about adult things. Real life. It's a CD of catchy, richly arranged songs about the challenges and joys of living in our mind-boggling world. And like a chat with a good friend, the conversation often whiplashes from serious to funny and back, a bass drum thumping all the while.
The album takes you through a typical Robby Berman day, from the opening benediction of "Omigoodness," to "Brown Cow," where Our Hero finds himself thinking about getting out of bed, to "28 Hours," a you're-late-already-Dude romp, and so on until goofy dreamtime once again with "Toes." In between, there's the sweet hush of a rainy day, a litigious landlord and all sorts of other daily stuff.
Melody, Words, Rhythm + Harmony is mostly a solo effort, though you wouldn't know that to listen to it. A few talented friends helped out, but otherwise Robby was left to his own devices. We're basically talking mad musical scientist here, feverishly working out his own Melody, Words, Rhythm + Harmony equation. Off in the woods. All by himself. You get the picture.
